The Stars are Laughing

Sometime in 2022 I miscalculated the ratio of yarn to dye in one of my recipes—and I pulled something beautiful out of the dyepot. I wrote down what I did because I knew it was too gorgeous to become a one of a kind…but it took me a few more tries to recreate what originally happened. I finally cracked the code and here we are. The name comes from a favorite song (Insomniac by Billy Pilgrim but sung by the Vineyard Sound—the all male acappella group that gathers on Martha’s Vineyard every summer and who are truly my first love). PLEASE NOTE: Due to the technique used when dyeing, this is a highly variable colorway between batches. Please be sure to purchase the entire quantity you need for your project as I cannot guarantee that different dye lots will match.

Shimmer (80% Superwash Merino 20% Silk, 400 yds, 100 grams)

42 (80% Superwash Merino, 20% Nylon, 400 yds, 100 grams)

42 Halfsie (Same fiber blend as 42, 200 yds, 50 grams)

Bling (75% Superwash Merino, 20% Nylon, 5% Silver Stellina, 438 yards, 100 grams)

Luxe (55% Superwash Bluefaced Leicester 45% Silk, 438 yds, 100 grams)

DK weight bases:

42 DK (75% Superwash Merino, 25% Nylon, 246 yds, 100 grams)

Jazz Hands (80% Superwash Merino, 10% Cashmere, 10% Nylon, 231 yds, 100 grams)

Posh DK (100% super wash Bluefaced Leicester, 246 yards, 100 grams)

Carefully hand wash cold, dry flat.

My yarns are hand dyed in small batches and every effort is made to duplicate colorways. However, the nature of hand dyeing often leads to variations between and within batches. To minimize the effect of such variation in your knitting or crocheting, it is recommended that you alternate skeins for a more uniform finished product. I make every effort to accurately represent the colors of my yarns. Read item descriptions carefully and note that due to settings on different monitors, the colors might appear different on your screen.
