Hello! I’m Joanna and thanks for visiting! I’ve been making for most of my life. The women in my mother’s family have always sewn, knit and crocheted—my great-grandmother was an amazing seamstress and dressmaker and many (although sadly, not all) of these skills were passed down through my mother to me. When I was young, my grandmother taught me how to knit and I discovered fine fibers when I picked up knitting again before my two boys were born. I was drawn to the colors and textures of the yarns of indie dyers as well as the textures of Merino, Alpaca, Silk, Bluefaced Leicester and Bamboo. I love creating products that are unique and useful—and I love creating new colors that you won’t find anywhere else. Every product that you find here is handmade or handdyed by me in my home studio in South Windsor, Connecticut.
